Dental root canal treatment — otherwise known as endodontic treatment — deals with diseases of the pulp and periapical tissues that are inflamed. Root canal treatment is necessary for caries that have not been treated for a long time. In a situation where the process of caries is not stopped, at the level of dentin it reaches the pulp of the tooth—pulpitis occurs and then root canal treatment will be necessary. In our clinic, we use a specialized microscope for root canal treatment. The root canal treatment is carried out by dentist Kamila Kulkowska.
Root canal treatment under a microscope gives you the opportunity to preserve a heavily infected tooth without having to pull it out. A tooth that has been treated with a root canal can remain in the patient's mouth for many years. Having as many of your own teeth as possible is very important for the proper functioning of the chewing organ.
This type of treatment caries consists in removing the inflamed pulp from the tooth chamber and decontamination of the root canals. Root canal treatment under a microscope is used in difficult cases — when traditional endodontic treatment may not bring the desired results. In order to know the structure of the tooth — the number of canals and their course, as well as to assess the condition of the periapical tissues in the first place, we start by taking an X-ray of the tooth or the entire oral cavity.
